Proverbs 27

(W) Key Verses that jumped at me Pro 27:5,19 5 Open rebuke is better Than love carefully concealed. 19 As in water face reflects face, So a man’s heart reveals the man. What spoke to me in the verses The verse 5 reminded me of the time where the Lord rebuked the pharisees with the strongest language. He didn't rebuke the hypocrites. He came to rebuke the hypocrisy for what they were not. And the Lord loves them, and He rebuked not at the hypocrites but at the hypocrisy. This reminded me once again that the Lord wants us to go to Him as we are. For whatever struggles and difficulties we may face, we just have to let go. And let God. We go to Him as we are, and the Lord will restore us. Just as He restored Peter. The goodness of God led Peter to repentance. And there along that line, when we are under grace of the Lord, sins will have no dominion over us. And we will be head, not be tail, and not beneath. The next verse 19, I was reminded of the water having that similarity to being ...

Proverbs 26

(W) Key Verses that jumped at me Pro 26:12 Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. What spoke to me in the verses This verse spoke to me, which says never to rely on our own strength to accomplish things. And never to seek out our own wisdom through our own flesh. But to always seek out the wisdom from above, from the Lord. In Matt 6:33, where it says when we seek out the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things shall be added to us. As we know fools are those who are arrogant, and to say those who are wise by his own effort pale in comparison to those who are fools, it just reminded us of the need to always trust not in our own flesh, but in the Lord. When we have love in our heart, and there comes the provisions of peace, wisdom and other blessings from the Lord. And our other gifts, the Lord will bless us. So, it is important to always seek out the Lord, be conscious of His love for us, keep going to Him to draw from Him. Keep...

Proverbs 25

(W) Key Verses that jumped at me Pro 25:22 22 For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the LORD will reward you. What spoke to me in the verses The first verse 22 spoke to me and reminding me of the redemption of Peter delivered by the Lord through the heap coals of fire. The first time Peter stood before coals of fire is in verse John 18:18 where he was alone, after failing the Lord. The 2nd time he stood before the coals of fire is in John 21:9 where he was with the Lord. And there the Lord restored Peter in front of His disciples. This reminded me once again of the goodness of God will lead us to repentance. And in the case of the woman who was accused of adultery, and after all pharisees left, the Lord gave her the gift of no condemnation that she will sin no more. For she was under grace. And this was exactly the message preached today by Ps Prince, where for we are under grace, we will sin no more. Like in Romans 8:17, where it says with gift of abundance of grace and ...

Proverbs 24

(W) Key Verses that jumped at me Pro 24:6 For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety. What spoke to me in the verses This verse spoke to me of having godly counsel to guide us in our daily lives. And this reminded me, and to seek counsel from those who have been through the walk with the Lord. For in all of us, indwell the Spirit. The same Holy Spirit. And in Zech 4:6 (So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts.) For every things we do, we will start somewhere. And God will take it and bless it. And I was mindblown by what Dn Charlie shared during the famine workshop. He shared of the abbreviations for each letter of SPIRIT. Story of Gospel People oriented Innovate Resilience Integrity Trust We shall ask God to lead us when sharing the Gospel of Grace. And to focus on people and develop them. We shall think out of our box by the gr...

Proverbs 23

(S) Key Verses that jumped at me Proverbs 23:15-16 TPT My beloved child, when your heart is full of wisdom, my heart is full of gladness. And when you speak anointed words, we are speaking mouth to mouth! Proverbs 23:18 TPT Your future is bright and filled with a living hope that will never fade away. What spoke to me in the verses In v15, I was drawn to the fact that the verse began with "my beloved child", such emphasis placed on our identity as a child of God! And reminding us that He is our loving Abba Father! When our heart is full of wisdom, and we know that wisdom comes when we ask Him for it for He gives it generously (James 1:5), it pleases our Heavenly Father! He is well pleased when we have our hearts filled with wisdom (Jesus) and when we know to ask Him and ask Him for more! In v16, I was intrigued by the word "anointed". Even though only in the TPT version does it use the word "anointed", but when we look up the Hebrew word for it, it is actu...

Proverbs 22

(S) Key Verses that jumped at me Proverbs 22:4 TPT Laying your life down in tender surrender before the Lord will bring life, prosperity, and honor as your reward. What spoke to me in the verses Some people may find surrendering to the Lord challenging at times... like there are certain areas where we find it really easy to trust the Lord in and there are some areas where we might wonder if we haven't seen God moved if we can still trust Him... And honestly I do question myself at times if there are areas that I do struggle to surrender to the Lord and trust Him in. But this verse reminded me of something else - of the one who laid His life down for me, the one who surrendered His life so that He can redeem me and truly have me as His own and as His righteous beloved! And this blow me off! And when He ask for us to lay down our life to Him, to surrender to Him because He not only wants to carry us through, He wants to bless us with life, prosperity, and honor! And this verse remind...

Proverbs 21

(S) Key Verses that jumped at me Proverbs 21:21 TPT He who follows righteousness and mercy Finds life, righteousness, and honor. What spoke to me in the verse This verse reminds me of Matthew 6:33 that as we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. And "all these things" including everything that the Lord wants to bless us with, and that every good and perfect gift shall be from Him! And if we refer back to the Proverbs verse, I like how it specifies that we will be blessed with life, righteousness, and honor. The word "honour" stood out to me. What a privilege that the Lord honours us as we choose to honour Him and place Him in the centre of our life! The hebrew word for HONOUR is "kabowd" and it means "glorious". He Lord glorifies us and cause us to shine (reminds me of the good shepherd who finds the lost sheep and rejoices over the sheep by placing the sheep on His shoulder) when we choo...

Proverbs 20

(W) Pro 20:6,24,26  V6 spoke to me that all of us in this world, shall not boast in their own strength, but to always to boast in the strength of the Lord, and boast in the goodness and grace of the Lord. His grace is made perfect in our weaknesses and His grace is more than sufficient for us. Another word for faithful (in Hebrew word which is emuwn) is truth. And that is what the Lord want us to do, to always believe in the Lord, and trust in the Lord with all our heart. What v24 spoke to me is that every child of God, our steps are guided and led by the Holy Spirit. And this reminded me of the verses in Jeremiah 1:6-12, which says that God knows everything about us way before we were formed in our mother's womb. And in Psalm 139:13-18, the verses say God have every good thoughts of us and when sum them all up together, this will be much more than what the sands could be numbered. Praise God! And when we trust in the Lord with all we can with our heart, our ways ahead will be ...

Proverbs 19

(S) Key Verses that jumped at me Proverbs 19:12 The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, But his favor is like dew on the grass. What spoke to me in the verse Pastor wrote in one of his devotional about Proverbs 19:12: Who is the king that this verse refers to? It is our Lord Jesus! So when the devil goes about like a roaring lion, he is trying to impersonate the King. He is trying to make you feel as if God is angry with you. Every time you hear preaching that leaves you with a sense that God is angry with you, guess what? You have just been roared at! But know this, beloved: God will NEVER be angry with you ever again. He only has to tell us this, but He wanted us to be so sure that He swore in His Word that He would never be angry with us again. And that reminds me of the sermon Pastor just preached today!!! That God is dealing with us not for who we are but according to what Jesus has done for us at the cross. And the wrath of God have been exhausted at the Cross. W...

Proverbs 18

(S) Key verses that jumped at me Proverbs 18:4 The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters; The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook. What spoke to me in the verse Love how the Lord is so consistent!!! Time and time again in Proverbs (and other passages), He is reminding us that there is so much life and power in our words. Water speaks of refreshment and our words are not just waters, they are deep waters - that speaks of deep refreshment. As we continually draw from the living waters (Jesus) that never runs dry, we shall not run dry too!!! And the second part of the verse confirms that! "Flowing" speaks of overflow and abundance! And it reminds me of the promise of the Lord in Isaiah 58:11 that we shall be like well-watered garden, even in the dry places! Isaiah 58:11 TPT Yahweh will always guide you where to go and what to do.     He will fill you with refreshment     even when you are in a dry, difficult place.     He will continually res...

Proverbs 17

(S) Key verses that jumped at me Proverbs 17:9 Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends. What spoke to me in the verse It was a verse that reminds me a lot about Jesus and what He has done to love us! The verse says love prospers when fault is forgiven. Because the Lord has paid the price of our redemption and forgiven us of all our sins, today we can stand before Him and boldly receive His love, His abundant love for us. And the next part of the verse goes on to say that "dwelling on it separates close friends". The Bible records that God remembers our sin NO MORE, so today, He is not dwelling on our sins and our faults, hence we cannot be separated from Him. He is close to us and nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). So today I am reminded that God dearly loves me and NOTHING absolutely nothing, and He doesn't want to either, to be separated from us! How blessed and love are we! *** (W) Pro 17:22  ...

Proverbs 16

Pro 16:7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. What this verse spoke to me is that when we place all trust in the Lord, and be constantly conscious of the Lord's love for us, His grace surely superabounds in us. And God sees us righteous today, becos of the precious and divine exchange between us and Lord Jesus. I was watching the mid-week sermon by Ps Prince earlier on, and Pastor talked about Jesus was at the cross where darkness covered the earth. And this is so that we could walk today and in the future, to be in the shining light of the world. And all favours of God and His blessings will be upon us, the head of righteous (Pro 10:6)! Praise Jesus! Another verse that spoke to me is v9 which says a man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. This shows us that every way that we take, the Lord are always ahead of us, for He goes right before us, protecting us and deliver us from every evils and to provide us...

Proverbs 15

(S) Proverbs 15:30 The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, And a good report makes the bones healthy. Light. again. Never realised how much light is in the Book of Proverbs. Eyes speak about the window to our soul, so what we envision would affect the joy of the heart. So it's a reminder to keep our eyes fix on Jesus and His love for us so that our hearts will be filled with joy. And the next line says "a good report makes the bones healthy". When I saw the word "good report", it reminded me of the good report that Joshua and Caleb brought back from Kadesh Barnea. Numbers 13:27-28 “We went to the land where you sent us. It is indeed flowing with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. But the inhabitants are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there." Basically all the 12 spies saw the same thing, but their version of the report differed based on their perspective of God. And the verse...

Proverbs 14

(S) Proverbs 14:30 NKJV A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones. A sound heart. Is the key to the body. No wonder it says in Proverbs 4:23 to guard our hearts above all else. Don't you just love how the Lord keeps things simple and straightforward for us? He doesn't give us 101 things to do and be reminded of, He always reminds us of the one thing that is needful. And the hebrew word for "sound" is Χ¨ָΧ€ָא (rapha), which means healed and whole. As our hearts believe that we are healed and whole, by the finished work of Christ, out of it shall flow life and health to our bodies. Proverbs 4:22-23 (NLT) for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. And if we read the verse that comes before verse 22, the Lord reminds us to pay attention to what He says (the Word of God). He wants us to go back to the word and as He has d...

Proverbs 13

(S) Proverbs 13:9 NKJV The light of the righteous rejoices, But the lamp of the wicked will be put out. Proverbs 13:9 NLT The life of the godly is full of light and joy, but the light of the wicked will be snuffed out. I've picked out verse 9 in two versions because I believe they complement each other. Initially if you read the NKJV, one may wonder how does light rejoices? But if you look at the NLT version, it refers to the life of the godly (the righteous one). That means that our life is a light, reflecting the glory of the light of the Lord. And we are as the light is (as Jesus is so are we in this world), we are called to be light - that shines and reflect the glory of the Lord so others can see what the light of Christ looks like ✨✨✨ Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the s...

Proverbs 12

(S) Proverbs 12:28 NKJV In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death. πŸ”Έ Such a sweet reminder that the way of the righteousness is life and there is no death. How beautiful is that! And the TPT version says "ABUNDANT LIFE" is discovered by walking in righteousness. As we walk out our righteousness, we are destined to live life abundantly (John 10:10). And the "way" to life is Jesus as He promised that He is way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). In Jesus, we will have our abundant life! As we lean in to the Lord, we shall see the promise of Psalms 16:11 ESV manifested in our life. As we delight in His presence, there shall be fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore! πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯ Psalms 16:11 (ESV) You make known to me the path of life;     in your presence there is fullness of joy;     at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. --- (W) Pro 12:2  A good man obtains favor from the LORD, But a man of wicked intentions...

Proverbs 11

(W) Pro 11:25, 27-28  25 The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself. 27 He who earnestly seeks good finds favor, But trouble will come to him who seeks evil. 28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like foliage. These 3 verses reminded me to constantly seek the Lord in everything we do, and when we do, we shall find favour in the Lord in all that we do. Also right, we shall keep on planting and sowing the seeds unto people's lives, for believers in Christ, we shall keep on encouraging each other and edify our spirit, and build on more faith, and to go to the Lord daily to drink from His feet, for out of our bellies shall flow rivers of living waters for others. And for pre believers in Christ, we shall look for every opportunities to share with them our testimony of how we receive Christ, and preach the Gospel of Grace to them. And this include sowing seeds and watering the seeds, and surely the Lor...

Proverbs 10

(S) For today's proverbs, I wanted to pick out the promises for the righteous ones and claim it in Jesus name! πŸ™ŒπŸ» πŸ”Έ righteousness delivers from death (v1) - the Lord delivered us from death πŸ”ΈThe Lord will not allow the righteous soul to famish (v2) - the Lord will not let us go hungry, it is His heart desires to feed us and provide for us, just like how He went to the woman at the well and after ministering to her, He told the disciples, He has food that they do not know of. When we allow the Lord to feed us, He is satisfied... πŸ”Έ Blessings are on the head of the righteous (v5) - the Lord has crown us with blessings, in exchange of the crown of thorns that He bear for us to take away the curse so we can receive blessings upon blessings, grace upon grace! πŸ”ΈThe memory of the righteous is blessed (v7) - we have the mind of Christ, and even our memory is blessed! πŸ”ΈThe mouth of the righteous is a well of life (v11) The tongue of the righteous is choice silver (v20) The ...

Proverbs 9

(S) Proverbs 9:10-11 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. πŸ”Έ The “fear of the Lord” in the new covenant of grace is about honoring, worshipping, and reverencing God as God in our lives. As we worship and honour the Lord, wisdom is added into our lives! πŸ”Έ Knowledge of the Holy One: The Lord's desire is for us to know Him more and more (and the most beautiful part is you can never exhaust from knowing more about the Lord because there is just so much beauty about Him every which way you turn Him). πŸ”ΈAnd as we seek wisdom, our days will be multiplied and years of life shall be added! And we shall not only live long days, but the Lord promises that we shall live to see good days (1 Peter 3:10) Good days are ahead of us! πŸŽ‰ --- (W) Pro 9:5  “Come, eat of my bread And drink of the wine I have mixed. This verse reminds me o...

Proverbs 8

(S) Really enjoyed reading today's Proverbs over and over again! It shows me that WISDOM is not just a "thing" we ask for, IT is the LORD himself. Proverbs 8:27-30 When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep, When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep, When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth, Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight Rejoicing always before Him Wisdom was in the beginning, when the Lord created the heavens and the earth. Wisdom was there when God made men. Wisdom was always there along the way with God. And wisdom is a delight to God. Meaning, as we seek God's wisdom daily (just like how we are reading Proverbs daily), it brings delight to the Lord! He rejoices that His children are seeking His greatest treasure! We are bl...

Proverbs 7

(W) Pro 7:2 NLT  "Obey my commands and live! Guard my instructions as you guard your own eyes." This verse spoke to me that the Lord's word always hold true in our lives. God is the author and finisher of our faith, and as we meditate on His words, I am reminded of the verse in John 7:38, of we going to Jesus' feet to drink, and be conscious of Jesus' unfailing love for us, to see Him in His grace, and when we do these, for out of our heart flows rivers of living water! And the verse says, to guard the words of God in our heart, and in the same way guard our eyes. Also, I was reminded of Pro 24:32 (NKJV) which says "When I saw (chazah) it, I considered (shiyth) it well; I looked on it (Ra'ah) and received instruction. ' Chazah ' in this verse it means to see, look behold and prophesy. And ' Shiyth ' means to put, set mind to and impose. While the word ' Ra'ah ' it means to see, look at, inspect and perceive. So from thes...

Proverbs 6

(S) Proverbs 6:31 But if he is found out, he must restore seven times [what he stole]; he must give the whole substance of his house [if necessary—to meet his fine]. I was reading Proverbs 6 and v31 reminded me that whatever that might have been stolen from us, it shall be restored seven times !!! Seven = rest = and that means that whatever has been taken from us, the Lord shall restore to us restfully! πŸ™ŒπŸ» (W) Pro 6:20-21 "My son, keep your father’s command, And do not forsake the law of your mother. Bind them continually upon your heart; Tie them around your neck." These 2 verses speaks of keeping our father's command and mother's laws. It can be to say we shall be conscious of their words and obey what they tell us to. And in another way, it is also to always remind us to turn to the living words of God, meditate and chew on them, mutter them, for the words of God speak life over us in every single way. In old covenant, men have to follow each and eve...

Proverbs 5

(S) Proverbs 5:2 (TPT) so that wisdom and discernment will enter your heart, and then the words you speak will express what you’ve learned This reminds me of Proverbs 18:21 - “The tongue has the power of life and death.” And that it is important what we allow into our hearts because it will affect the words we speak! --- (W) Pro 5:21 "For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders all his paths" This verse spoke to me that the Lord will go before us in every situation we are in (Deut 31:8), and the Lord is with us to fight our battles, for the battle is the Lord's. And we shall let go and let God. This also reminded me that Jesus went to the cross before us, and everything Jesus did at the cross, the divine exchange between the Lord and us, that we can come before Abba Father to receive all His blessings. And every paths we are in, the Lord superabounds grace in them and turns everything good, for our good. And in Job 14:16 which speaks ...

Proverbs 4

(W) Proverbs 4:9, 18, 26  9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.” 18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. 26 Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established. The v9 spoke to me of ornament of grace. It reminded me of the crown of glory that we could wear today because of the crown of thorns that the Lord wore in our place. And the Lord has deliver us from every evil and terror of this world. And so that He could deliver to us all His blessings. Not by our own efforts. But through the finished work of the Lord Jesus. Like the one Pastor shared during the camp. The cracks in windows glasses. The light pass through those cracks and shine through so brightly. The cracks are those weaknesses we have. The light is Jesus. His grace shining through in us and transform us from glory to glory. His grace is made perfect in our weaknesses. For v18 ...

Proverbs 3

(S) Proverbs 3:5-6 (TPT) Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions . With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go The 7 words in the verses "do not rely on your own opinions" really spoke to me as a reminder that no matter what mind games come, my opinions (or view of the situation) shouldn't be the anchor of my trust. And a sweet reminder to learn to continue to trust and lean on HIM! (W) Proverbs 3:12, 21 NKJV 12 For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights. 21 My son, let them not depart from your eyes— Keep sound wisdom and discretion; These 2 verses spoke to me in a way reminding me to always be conscious of the Lord's unfailing love for us. It's never about my love for Him. It is all about His love for me and for us. And God sees us not in flesh but in...
