Proverbs 13

Proverbs 13:9 NKJV
The light of the righteous rejoices,
But the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

Proverbs 13:9 NLT
The life of the godly is full of light and joy,
but the light of the wicked will be snuffed out.

I've picked out verse 9 in two versions because I believe they complement each other. Initially if you read the NKJV, one may wonder how does light rejoices? But if you look at the NLT version, it refers to the life of the godly (the righteous one). That means that our life is a light, reflecting the glory of the light of the Lord. And we are as the light is (as Jesus is so are we in this world), we are called to be light - that shines and reflect the glory of the Lord so others can see what the light of Christ looks like ✨✨✨

Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Which brings us back to Proverbs 4:18 as well, that the path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter. What a reminder that our life has been set apart to not just keep on shining, like a fire that can never be put out, it is one that will be filled with the fullness of joy! Let that be said of our life, that people shall see the BRIGHTNESS and the JOY in us - and hence see the true light - Jesus!

Pro 13:3
He who guards his mouth preserves his life,
But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

This verse once again speak to us to guard our mouth gate. And one way to do it, is to keep praying in the spirit, like we did for the daily #GenRev777. And I really believe that the Lord will bless all who keep praying in tongues, for Ps Prince said before, to fully tap unto (fully manifest) the 9 spiritual gifts (1 Cor 12) and 9 fruits of the spirit (Gal 5), we only need to do one thing (apart from meditating on God's words). And that is praying in tongues. And the verse talks of a man who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. This reminded me of the sermon which Pastor preached. We have both power and love from Lord Jesus Christ. If we only have love but no power, we can not do anything. On the other hand, if we have power but no love, it will be destructive. And because we are in Christ and Christ in us, we always have the power and love from Lord Jesus to speak with love, and let His grace flows through us. And when we keep praying in spirit and speak with love from the Lord, for out of our belly shall flows rivers of living waters, like Ps Vegard and Esther was sharing during the praying in tongue session. So good! Praise the Lord!
