Proverbs 14
(S)
Proverbs 14:30 NKJV
A sound heart is life to the body,
But envy is rottenness to the bones.
A sound heart. Is the key to the body.
No wonder it says in Proverbs 4:23 to guard our hearts above all else.
Don't you just love how the Lord keeps things simple and straightforward for us? He doesn't give us 101 things to do and be reminded of, He always reminds us of the one thing that is needful. And the hebrew word for "sound" is רָפָא (rapha), which means healed and whole. As our hearts believe that we are healed and whole, by the finished work of Christ, out of it shall flow life and health to our bodies.
Proverbs 4:22-23 (NLT)
for they bring life to those who find them,
and healing to their whole body.
Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.
And if we read the verse that comes before verse 22, the Lord reminds us to pay attention to what He says (the Word of God). He wants us to go back to the word and as He has declared us righteous, as He has made us whole, so are we! And as we continue to believe our righteous foundation, we will live right, we will have health not just to our souls, but to our bodies too! We are made right and made whole, in Jesus name, Amen!

Pro 14:4
Where no oxen are, the trough is clean;
But much increase comes by the strength of an ox.
From this verse, it reminded me that if we put our trust in our own flesh and efforts, to be self-righteous, it will bear no true fruits. On the other hand, because of the finished work of Lord Jesus, we are now the righteousness of God in Christ. When we place all our trust in the Lord, be Christ-centred in all that we do, and let His grace comes through us and in us, we can look forward to good days, as amazing things are going to happen and abound in our lives, where superabundance of blessings are on the head of righteous (Pro 10:6)! As I read on, verses 26-27 speaks of the worship of the Lord, this reminded me of us giving thanks to the Lord in all that we do. Like when Jesus was on earth, before He went about doing good and performing miracles, He always give thanks to Abba Father. And this reminded me of Exo 30:34-36, which speaks of 3 spices (stacte - prophesy; onycha - lion, symbolising our Lord Jesus is our Lion; galbanum - finest) made into incense, and this speaks of the perfection of Lord Jesus Christ through what He did at the cross. So going back to Pro 14:26-27, when we come before the Lord to worship Him, being conscious that He is perfect and all the more lovely, we now qualify for Him, the true city of refuge (like what Pastor preached), and when we pray in the spirit, give praise and worship the Lord, there shall be a fountain of life (John 7:38)! Praise Jesus!
