Proverbs 16
Pro 16:7
When a man’s ways please the LORD,
He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
What this verse spoke to me is that when we place all trust in the Lord, and be constantly conscious of the Lord's love for us, His grace surely superabounds in us. And God sees us righteous today, becos of the precious and divine exchange between us and Lord Jesus. I was watching the mid-week sermon by Ps Prince earlier on, and Pastor talked about Jesus was at the cross where darkness covered the earth. And this is so that we could walk today and in the future, to be in the shining light of the world. And all favours of God and His blessings will be upon us, the head of righteous (Pro 10:6)! Praise Jesus!
Another verse that spoke to me is v9 which says a man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. This shows us that every way that we take, the Lord are always ahead of us, for He goes right before us, protecting us and deliver us from every evils and to provide us with His goodness. Bad day shall be short, for it is singular. Good days are plenty, for the Lord is guiding our every steps. This is so good! This verse also reminded me that we shall keep our eyes focussed solely on the Lord, and let Him guide us in all that we do by His grace. And another verse, v20, also speaks of us to go to the Lord to drink, and for out of our belly shall flows rivers of living water. And the Lord blesses us not just with His goodness, but in our heart, we shall find joy and rejoice in the Lord Jesus Christ. Becos of His finished work, and we just keep putting our trust in Him, we shall see good days ahead of us! Another verse which drew to me, is v31. It talks of goldies (silver haired head) wearing crown of glory when they found their way in righteousness (of God in Christ). I saw it another way. Like silver which symbolises redemption. And today, we are the righteousness of God in Christ, all becos of Jesus' finished work at the cross. And becos of what He did, His great grace that is in superabundance shall be blessed unto us. We are forever redeemed with every blessings from God, Abba Father, that becos Lord Jesus was made poor, that we may be rich, not just rich, but superabundantly rich. And becos He wore the crown of thorns, we can now wear the crown of glory. We just need to be conscious of the Lord's love for us, toward us, and see Jesus in His grace. And surely, good days are ahead of us! Praise the name of Lord Jesus Christ!

Proverbs 16:1 ESV
The plans of the heart belong to man,
but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
The first verse of today's chapter jumped out at me, and I'm not surprised maybe because I'm quite a planner 😂 Then I went on to read the NKJV and saw the word "preparations".
Proverbs 16:1 NKJV
The preparations of the heart belong to man,
But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.
The hebrew word for "preparations" here is arak. Which is also the same word found in Psalm 23:5.
Psalm 23:5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies
And that reminded me that God Himself prepared the table of feast in front of our enemies. We know that God is able to arrange all of our lives so that we are well-fed (we experience shalom) and we rest in His provision. We may even believe that He is willing to do this. But I believe the key is letting Him!
I was reading the book The Fight to Flourish and the author commented on the story of Mary and Martha. I like how she phrased it!
"Someone's gotta be the party planner! The problem was that she put the emphasis on the preparations and not on the Person she was preparing for" Jennie Lusko
And this serves as a reminder to me today, to let go and let God. And enjoy Him in the process instead of being overwhelmed with every thing else that is happening around us, and in turn He would lead us in the path to go, in the restful, without strive manner!
