Proverbs 18

(S)
Key verses that jumped at me
Proverbs 18:4
The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters;
The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook.

What spoke to me in the verse
Love how the Lord is so consistent!!! Time and time again in Proverbs (and other passages), He is reminding us that there is so much life and power in our words. Water speaks of refreshment and our words are not just waters, they are deep waters - that speaks of deep refreshment. As we continually draw from the living waters (Jesus) that never runs dry, we shall not run dry too!!! And the second part of the verse confirms that! "Flowing" speaks of overflow and abundance! And it reminds me of the promise of the Lord in Isaiah 58:11 that we shall be like well-watered garden, even in the dry places!

Isaiah 58:11 TPT
Yahweh will always guide you where to go and what to do.
    He will fill you with refreshment
    even when you are in a dry, difficult place.
    He will continually restore strength to you,
    so you will flourish like a well-watered garden
    and like an ever-flowing, trustworthy spring of blessing.

Pro 18:4,20,24
4 The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters;
The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook.
20 A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth;
From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.
24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Both v4 and v20 stood out to me in guarding our mouth gate. And yesterday's sermon preached by Ps Prince was very timely. We have a High Priest in Lord Jesus, and today whatever we speak to Him (that aligns to the will of Father), God shall make it come to pass. And when we speak to our Rock, the Lord blesses us with living water that are more than sufficient that it flows out to bless others. And this also reminded of praying in tongues like we have been doing daily for genrev777, we feel so at peace and restful when we pray in the spirit. And when we are at rest, the wisdom of the Lord will come to us. And all the other spiritual gifts be fully manifested in our lives. And v24 talks about having a friend who sticks closer than a brother. And we are so much blessed to have this Friend in Lord Jesus, who is not only our heavenly Brother, but also our God who deliver us. And God doesn't count on what we do. God is now judging us based on His beloved Son Jesus, and now we can receive all His full blessings. Amen!
